Our Story

Auckland International Campus (AIC) is an education hub in the heart of Auckland, bringing together programmes from reputable institutions — a place to learn, grow and connect with students from around the world.

Established as a partnership between Otago Polytechnic and FutureSkills, AIC delivers high-quality, career-focused education for international learners. We combine practical learning, strong industry connections and a supportive campus community to help students achieve their study and career goals.

Who we are 

In 2012, two education providers with well-established histories came together to form the Auckland International Campus (AIC).  

• Otago Polytechnic was established in Dunedin in 1966 and has been a leader in hands-on career-focused education for more than half a century. 

• Future Skills began in South Auckland in 2001 and now has five campuses throughout the city.  

Our AIC campus now caters to more than 1,000 students from more than 30 countries. 

What we do  

We offer high-quality programmes from diploma through to master's level in Applied Management, Construction and Information Technology. All programmes are NZQA-approved, with accreditation held by our partner institutions, FutureSkills and Otago Polytechnic.

All qualifications are awarded by our partner institutions and delivered at our Auckland campus. Students enrol directly with the relevant partner institution, which – through AIC – holds all enrolment and academic records.

Here at AIC, it’s not just about getting a qualification. We’ll help you develop capabilities and connections that will set you up to hit the ground running when you enter the workforce.  

You’ll study in a vibrant, modern learning environment with excellent facilities, from computer labs and free Wi-Fi to quiet study areas, an Academic Resource Centre, and a welcoming student lounge. Outside of the classroom, you'll enjoy social events, cultural celebrations, and Kiwi adventures.

Who we work with 

We work closely with industry to ensure our programmes remain relevant, practical, and aligned with workforce needs. 

We also connect our students with the industry via internships, networking opportunities, guest lectures, and more.  

Our industry partners span a wide range of sectors from hospitality and real estate, to construction and IT.  

Quality and student wellbeing 

Both Future Skills and Otago Polytechnic are NZQA Category 1 education providers. This means NZQA is highly confident in our performance.

Future Skills and Otago Polytechnic are both signatories to The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021. The Code outlines how education providers should ensure the wellbeing and safety of their learners.
